What an awesome crew of genuinely kind and thoughtful pet lovers. I was really nervous about the thought of leaving my dog while traveling across the country, but Jesse and my provider Fox were amazing and I was totally confident that my pets would be in good hands. My dog is reactive to other dogs, and I never felt as though it was an issue – such a relief as a reactive dog owner. So happy to have found them, after some less than ideal experiences with Rovers, this is the kind of company that is absolutely worth the price and one that I will continue to support!

The Pawsitive Steps PDX folks are my go-to dog walkers and dog sitters. I’ve been with them since I first got my pup several years ago, when Schel was willing to take on my highly dog reactive dog for daily walks. Schel reinforced cues and training on walks, and my dog not only has come so far in her training, but she absolutely loves Schel. When Jesse filled in for Schel, my dog fell in love with them too. I’ve recently started using them for dog sitting and couldn’t be happier. Lisa was super communicative and sent me updates on my dog multiple times per day. It was obvious she was enjoying my dog as much as my dog was enjoying her. I felt really good knowing my pup was getting such good care while I was away. On top of that, Lisa left the house spotless, which is pretty amazing after a two week stay. I feel lucky to have found these folks. Highly recommend Jesse and their team!

I have two reactive, noise-phobic dogs, one of which is extremely afraid of new people. I struggled to find the right care for them, and for years I wasn’t able to travel or leave my home. Jesse came highly recommended by several people, and I began working to acclimate my dogs to them after they agreed to give it a try. For nearly 6 months we met weekly and slowly introduced my fearful dogs, and Jesse couldn’t have been more patient, kind, understanding and calm; they’re truly a wonderful human being. They intuitively understood my dogs’ needs, effectively learned to read their body language and listened thoughtfully to my instructions. We finally reached a point where my dogs not only became comfortable with Jesse, they completely adore them. I was able to visit family and know my home and dogs would be safe. I am so grateful to Jesse; they’ve given me the priceless gifts of freedom and peace-of-mind, and wouldn’t leave my home or dogs with anyone else.

We’ve been working with Pawsitive Steps for a little over a year now, and we’ve been so happy with them. We have two kitties with health issues that require daily medication and food routines, and everyone we’ve worked with has been awesome. We highly recommend Pawsitive Steps! Parker is amazing and I couldn’t be more comfortable knowing our dogs are in Parker’s care. Our terrier was traumatized when he was a young dog and he takes a very long time to warm up to people he doesn’t know. I was amazed at how well he did with Parker on our first walk together, and within two weeks, they were the best of friends! Parker receives full butt-and-tail wags from Charlie—a rare and coveted response! To give some perspective, it took a year before Charlie stopped hiding from our last dog care-giver, whom he now adores. I don’t know how Parker did it, but Charlie couldn’t be happier! Parker also sends the BEST photos with every text update, capturing their mid-day adventures while Mom & Dad are at work.

We highly recommend Pawsitive steps. Parker has been walking our puppy for 3 months now. The crew at Pawsitive steps is very professional, they are also caring and loving towards your pet. Juan and I are new pet owners. We got Chiva our dog 3 months ago and immediately hired Pawsitive Steps PDX as our dog walking service. Jesse was great in explaining us how it would work and what they recommended for our puppy. Then Parker came to meet us at our place. Parker has come every day ever since, and Chiva loves him ! We love getting pictures of their walks every day and Parker is very kind and shares with us other details like if Chiva finished his kibble or not, or if there was a particular highlight of the day. We weren’t expecting that level of engagement ! It has been amazing to have Parker be Chiva’s best friend. For us, we’ve also learned from Parker tips on how to train Chiva better and how to give him more love.
We also love the clarity we get with our invoicing/payments and the quick response to any contingency we might run into. Great communication

We want to give a special shout out to Mary Early. In short she was fantastic. She dog sat and house watched our pampered 10 lb Shih Tzu for 18 days and nights. She sent pictures and texts at least twice per day and kept us informed of any unusual behavior. She monitored our dogs food and water intake and output. Mary took our dog on long walks and many adventures. She kept the house neat and clean and washed her laundry before she left. She made us feel totally relaxed while we were away on our trip. Mary is our go to choice whenever we need a dog/house sitter.
